Another book from Urim
When we first announced our deal with Urim Publications to have them openly license one of their works we knew we were treading into uncharted waters. We hoped it was just the beginning. Today we're happy to announce another similar deal. Sefaria's donors have made it possible for Urim to license the Eliyahu Munk translation of Akeidat Yitzchak under the CC0 license. We've added the entire book to Sefaria and you can start reading it right away.
Akeidat Yitzchak is the work of Rabbi Yitzchak Arama. Arama was a fifteenth century rabbi who was born in Spain and left for Italy when the inquisition forced him out. He was a talmudist and a philosopher, and the Akeidat Yitzchak is a lengthy philosophical overview of the Torah. Munk's translation occasionally abbreviates lengthy sections that Munk felt were too long winded and esoteric to be of interest to the average reader.
